Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den wagering is against the law. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; still, financing sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau casino, highlights 150 one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of amenities aside from the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
